Clothing design brings together ideas, materials and practical decisions. At The Fashion Design School, we're developing small-group, in-person courses where you can explore an idea, test it on paper and fabric, and learn through feedback and further practice.

For curious beginners, people exploring a new direction, and makers ready to develop their skills.

TFDS SHORT COURSES

START WITH THE BASICS

Our planned short-course areas:

PATTERN
MAKING

Explore how flat shapes become three-dimensional clothing. Learn foundational drafting principles and ways to develop a pattern.

GARMENT
CONSTRUCTION

Build practical sewing skills, understand how garments go together, and practise construction and finishing techniques.

03/

DESIGN & VISUAL
COMMUNICATION

Develop ideas through research, drawing and experimentation, and learn to communicate your clothing designs clearly.

Courses will be introduced in stages. Dates, fees and entry requirements will be shared as each course is confirmed.
